Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter born on March 30, 1853, in Zundert, Netherlands. He is renowned for his vivid use of color and expressive brushwork, which have greatly influenced 20th-century art. Although he struggled with mental illness and spent much of his life in poverty, Van Gogh produced over 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which were created in the last two years of his life.
Some of his most famous works include "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," "The Bedroom," and "Irises." Despite selling only a few paintings during his lifetime, Van Gogh's work gained immense popularity after his death on July 29, 1890.
