Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra - كتب

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (1547–1616) was a Spanish novelist, playwright, and poet, best known for his classic work "Don Quixote," which is considered one of the first modern novels and a foundational text of Western literature. Born in Alcalá de Henares, Cervantes led a tumultuous life, including military service, captivity as a prisoner in Algiers, and various struggles with poverty.

"Don Quixote," published in two parts in 1605 and 1615, follows the adventures of a delusional nobleman who attempts to revive chivalry by becoming a knight-errant. The novel explores themes of reality versus illusion, individuality, and the nature of literature itself. Cervantes's innovative narrative style and character development had a profound influence on the course of literature, paving the way for modern storytelling techniques.

In addition to "Don Quixote," Cervantes wrote several plays and poems, as well as other prose works, but none reached the same level of acclaim. His legacy endures, and he is celebrated as one of the greatest writers in the Spanish language and literature as a whole.
