Corrie Ten Boom - كتب

Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch Christian watchmaker and a key figure in the Resistance during World War II. She is best known for her role in saving the lives of many Jews during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Born on April 15, 1892, in Amsterdam, she lived with her family in Haarlem.

The ten Boom family used their home as a hiding place for Jews escaping the Nazis. They built a secret room in their house to conceal those in danger. In February 1944, their efforts were discovered by the Gestapo, leading to Corrie, her father, and her sister Betsie being arrested.

Corrie and Betsie were ultimately sent to a concentration camp, where they endured harsh conditions. Betsie died in the camp, but Corrie survived and was released due to a clerical error in December 1944.

After the war, Corrie became a renowned speaker and author, sharing her experiences and promoting messages of forgiveness and reconciliation. Her most famous book, "The Hiding Place," recounts her family's efforts to save Jews and her experiences in the concentration camp. The book has been adapted into a film and continues to be influential.

Corrie ten Boom traveled extensively, speaking about her faith, the importance of forgiveness, and the lessons learned from her wartime experiences. She passed away on April 15, 1983, but her legacy of courage, compassion, and faith endures.
